The euphoria from Kobe Bryant's latest game-winning shot didn't last much longer than it took for the celebratory streamers to fall from the Staples Center roof onto the Toronto Raptors' heads. Despite their 47-18 record and their perch atop the Western Conference standings, Bryant and his teammates say the Los Angeles Lakers are in their worst funk of the season.

Kobe Bryant didn't get what he expected—an early double-team from the Raptors with the game in Bryant's hands—so he took what he was given. Bryant said he was looking to pass on the Lakers' last possession Tuesday night, but when Toronto waited until later in the possession to have Andrea Bargnani run over to help Antoine Wright, Bryant took advantage. He dribbled away from Bargnani toward the right baseline and hit a 17-foot fadeaway with 1.9 seconds left, giving the Lakers a 109-107 victory. Lakers coach Phil Jackson said before Sunday's game that Bryant would likely play despite being a little late to the game because of the illness.
