Lee was acquired by the Lakers from Cleveland midway through the 1979-80 season for Don Ford. The deal also involved swapping first round picks in 1982, giving the Lakers the pick that ended up being the first overall pick. With that pick the Lakers selected James Worthy. Lee played a total of 11 games for the Lakers before having to retire because of injuries.
