Signed a three-year contract worth a reported $14 million with the Lakers on July 20, 2007, after being voluntarily released from his contract with the Utah Jazz. Fisher asked to be released from his contract with the Jazz so that he could move to a city where his daughter Tatum could get care for her illness retinoblastoma, a degenerative and rare form of eye cancer.
