Signed a six-year contract worth $30 million on 7/12/07 to stay with the Lakers after becoming an unrestricted free agent after the 2006-2007 season.
Named Honorable Mention All-America by AP following junior and senior seasons. Also garnered All-Pac-10 Conference recognition both seasons. Ranks fourth in school history with 582 assists. One of three players in Pac-10 history to total 1,000 career points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists, joining former NBA players Ron Lee (Oregon) and Pooh Richardson (UCLA). During four-year career, Arizona won 102 of his 129 (.791) games played. He sat out the 1998-99 season as a medical redshirt due to a stress fracture in the navicular bone of his right foot.
Son of Hall of Famer and Top 50 player Bill Walton. Brothers Nate and Adam played basketball at Princeton and Cal Poly-Pomona, respectively. Younger brother Chris plays at San Diego State. Earned bachelor?s degree in family studies.
